Where in the World #7…
Posted by Kristen on Jul 15, 2008 in Foreign Service, Travel | 9 comments#6 was Brasilia, Brazil. We heard from a friend that just got back from there that we would likely have a home with a big yard, a pool and fruit trees. I could handle that! We would learn Portuguese which would be a much easier transition than learning an entirely new language. That would also relieve us of the stress to learn a new language quickly because we would have some background!

The name of this city in it’s own language is actually 4 words. The ceremonial name has 21 “words/names”. It was once known as having the worst traffic in the world. The people use lots of Wats…and no, I don’t mean electricity. There are an abundance of stray animals and wonderful food along the streets.
There was also a song written about this city. “One Night in_______”. You won’t really want to listen to all of the words but it is funny if you google it and listen.
I know! It is Bangkok, Thailand!

Couldn’t think, didn’t know, but I believe Wats are their dollars, right? That word sounded familiar. How fun that would be for the Seckinger family!! And the Kolbs, too.
