Bern it is! …Where in the World #2

By the way, we learned from my mom that Bern has a chocolate factory too! I could really live there. Just think of what a good mood we would all be in if we smelled chocolate while we played at the park.

Bern, Switzerland

Bern, Switzerland

On to the next one…

The country’s name is also the name of the capital. In 1993 it was reported that the country had the highest worldwide per capita consumption of alcohol an average of three beers a day for every man, woman, and child. The city is one of the wealthiest in the world. It is the seat of the European Union. Germany occupied this city twice, in World War I and II. General George S. Patton is buried here.

I guessed it right at first, but the “in 1993” bit threw me off when I looked it up. According to Wikipedia, they have slid to a lowly 10th place now. Maybe you can help them close the gap on those Czechs!

  13. By the way, while not unlike almost every other country in the world, the official language is named after the country, but they don’t teach the official language in the schools anymore… probably because its hard to even mention the language without laughing.
