I think we commented a few weeks ago that it was Colombian Independence Day. We thought this picture was kind of funny. Seth went down the hill to “get something from the drugstore” and came back with pictures that he took of Jackson at the anti-FARC march. Jackson is either making his “boo on the FARC” face or “mommy is not going to be happy about this” face. Either face is quite appropriate. He probably felt a little abandoned too when daddy put him way out in the road for the picture. What happened to never take your hands off the stroller????!!

Well, our series has come to an end! Thanks for enduring!!
The answers to the last post are…..
#24- Vienna, Austria
#25- Paris, France
#26-Bridgetown, Barbados
#27-Capetown, South Africa
Just to sum up and give you an idea of what is on the remaining list, in no particular order…
Bern, Brasilia, Monterrey, Nicosia, The Hague, Caracus, Guatemala City, Mexico City, Toronto, Asuncion, Berlin, Bridgetown, Joberg, Milan, Pretoria, Vienna, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Kingston, Montreal, Nassau, Recife, Sao Paulo
Obviously, some are higher on our personal list than others. We have 2 weeks to rank them High, Medium and Low and 1-20. We have some more specific research to do but have the general idea of our list after more research this weekend! We would be very happy to be in Bern close to Bo and Leigh!!! Bo and Leigh are our friends that are starting work at Black Forest Academy in Germany. Their plane lands today and we are so excited for them! And of course there might be the Seabourn’s in Guatemala City, and our South African friends visiting in Pretoria or Joberg, and Sean O’Leary working in Amsterdam, and all of you visiting Barbados for the beaches. Lots of options. We have our work cut out for us!!!
Again, thanks for those that have guessed at our silly game! You made the otherwise very stressful process of paring the list down much more pleasurable! We will make a list of those of you that guessed so that you are sure to have priority on visiting!!!! No, guessing today on the answers we have provided will not land you a spot. Too late folks. The ship has sailed.

Apparently some people felt misled about #23 and would have guessed correctly otherwise. The reason for feeling misled is because we have now received the updated bid list and Geneva wasn’t on there anymore. For this reason, we’ll give half points to anyone who would have guessed Geneva but didn’t.
Like I just said, the “high equity” bidders have been given their choices, so the list has been pared down. Some of the Iraq, Afghanistan and other bidders have chosen a few of our top choices, but that’s OK. We still have several we’d love to go to.
At the same time, we’re getting exhausted posting a new clue everyday, so the last 4 will be done all in one post. Actually, all but 1 of these 4 is off our list.
Good luck!
#24
The country was first named Osterrich. The Sound of Music was based in this country (I came up with that clue on my own.). This city lies at the edge of the Alps. The Nazis overtook this city during WWII. According to Wikipedia, this city is the last great capital of the 19th century ball, with over 200 balls held per year. Another “delicacy” is named after this city. It’s similar to the one from Frankfurt only it comes in a can. The world’s oldest zoo is located here, founded in 1752.

This city is located on the River Seine. It is known for crepes and a particular type of bread. Why waste our time with all these facts. If there was a movie based on Judy’s life, it would be titled, “I’d Rather be in _____.”
#26
The name of the country in Portuguese means “the bearded one.” Like many British ex-colonies, Queen Elizabeth II is the head of state of this country. To the south lies Trinidad and Tobago. The British established this city in 1628 following the settlement at James Town. This city is the only one outside the continental North America that George Washington visited. The town was formally called the Town of Saint Michael. (This is the only 1 of the 4 still on the updated list.)
And the last one, #27
For those following along, we’ve already posted about two other cities from this country. This city has the same “suffix” as #26, although this city is two words and #26 is one word. The city was originally founded to be a supply stop as ships traveled eastward. According to Wikipedia, one of its sister cities is Galveston. It is the legislative capital of the country.

Jackson got a water table for his birthday from his Kolb grandparents. It arrived this week! Since we live in an apt we get cabin fever sometimes so it is nice to finally have the porch safe and the water table here to play with!
It’s finally here!!!
“Helping” daddy put it together
Fill her up! (Wearing Daddy’s undershirt “in case” I get wet.)
“Feet on the ground, Jackson”…one of the most commonly spoken phrases in our home these days. Somehow, he manages to fly most of the day!
